I am a professor of counselling psychology at the University of Calgary. This has been my career since 2001, having left a 16-year position at a local community college. I have also been a licensed psychologist in Alberta since 1986.
I am currently the Editor in Chief of the Canadian Journal of Counselling and Psychotherapy, the national peer-reviewed professional journal in the counselling discipline. I currently spend most of my professional time writing articles and books.
Even before my passion for psychology grew into what it is today, I nurtured an earlier interest that has forever intrigued me: hypnosis and hypnotherapy. Since 1982, I have practiced hypnotherapy with hundreds of clients.
Under Writing above, you will find a list of my published books with a link to order a copy of the ones that interest you, as well as a list of my publications. Under Services you can find information about scheduling a counselling appointment or to book me to provide a presentation or workshop to your company or organization on the topics of multiculturalism and diversity, or hypnosis and hypnotherapy.
In the Free Resources section you will find materials for download that pertain to psychological practice and under Contact you will find my cell number, email and mailing address.
